Mauricio Figueroa

Mauricio Figueroa Restrepo is a Colombian actor and television presenter with an extensive career that began in the early 1970s.[1]

Career

In his youth he moved to the city of Bogotá to begin a career in acting. After serving for some time as a runway model, Figueroa made his debut on Colombian television, playing a small role in the series La ciudad grita. From that moment on, he was part of the cast in a large number of Colombian productions, including Lejos del nido, La María, El Alférez Real, and Memorias fantasticas. In 1979, he starred in the telenovela Piel de zapa with actress Delfina Guido.

In the 1980s his participation in his country's television was more limited, appearing in productions such as La espada de papel, Mi sangre aunque plebeya and Los dueños del poder. He moved to the United States, where he worked as an event presenter and modeling teacher, returning to Colombia in the late 1990s to devote himself initially to the theater.

At the beginning of the 2000's Figueroa became again a regular face in Colombian TV productions, integrating the cast of series and soap operas such as Francisco el matemático, Pobre Pablo, La caponera, La Baby Sister and La lectora, besides working as a host in some variety shows. In 2008 he was part of the cast of La Dama de Troya, a soap opera broadcast by RCN Televisión. In the decade of 2010 he has appeared in popular television series such as Escobar, el Patrón del Mal, Tres Caínes and the new version of Francisco el Matemático. In 2017 he was part of the cast of the film Armero under the direction of Christian Mantilla.[2]
