Matthew Goetz is a digital asset investor based out of Stamford, Connecticut. He is currently a Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer at BlockTower Capital. ^[1]

Goetz is originally from Naperville, Illinois. ^[1] He attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Enterprise Systems Engineering. Goetz later earned a Master of Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. ^[1]

In 2006, Goetz began his career as an engineer at Sargent & Lundy. He spent the next 11 years working at Goldman Sachs, where he attained the position of Vice President. ^[1] Goetz left Goldman Sachs in 2017 in order to start BlockTower Capital, a cryptoasset investment firm , alongside Ari Paul. Their mission is to bring professional trading and portfolio management to cryptocurrency. BlockTower Capital has gone on to raise over $140 million from investors including Union Square Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz.
