Matt LeTourneau was a firefighter for the Philadelphia Fire Department. [0] [2] [1]

Career

Lt. LeTourneau was an 11-year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department, where he was promoted to lieutenant in 2015. [0] [2] [1]

He received a unit citation in 2010 and a letter of commendation for his service during the World Meeting of Families in 2015.

Death

On Saturday, January 6, 2018, Lt. LeTourneau died in the line of duty after the interior of a home collapsed during a fire in Philadelphia, pinning him under debris. LeTourneau was trapped for 30 minutes until firefighters were able to remove him. [0] [2] [1]

The fire was deemed under control after about 2 hours.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
