The son of an engineer and a home builder, construction is in Matt Blashaw’s blood.

The Orange County, California native began his building career at a very young age in his dad’s lumberyard.

He dove into fix-it projects around his family’s home, and worked on everything from plumbing and electrical.

He even constructed giant skateboard ramps in his backyard.

In high school, he took his skills to the stage and built sets for the musical theatre productions.

Matt’s love for construction and for the arts led him to pursue his B.F.A.

Degree in film and television production from Chapman University.

While there, he also achieved his department’s highest honor, the filmmaker of the year award.
