Matija Vukšić

Matija Vukšić (1982 - 2019) was Croatian journalist and film director, best known for his documentaries.

Born as a son of journalist Branko Vukšić, he initially followed father's footsteps and graduated journalism at Zagreb University's Faculty of Political Sciences. He began working for Croatian Radiotelevision before studying film direction at Academy of Dramatic Art.

In 2008 he brought attention of public for wearing caps with Ustasha and Communist insignias on the streets of Zagreb in order to gauge how would average citizens react to it. He was briefly detained by police before explaining that it was part of "social experiment".

In 2011 he graduated at Academy.

Even before graduation he brought attention with his 2009 film Benjamin, dedicated to 17-year old Romani boy in search of identity.
