Mary Hastings is a high school Teacher at Ozen High School - Beaumont, Texas.
Allegations
On April 8, 2016 she was arrested after a video allegedly showed her slapping a student in the head five times and calling him a "idot ass" went viral on social media.
Hastings was immediately removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave pending action on her contract.
She was arrested on one charge of assault and posted a $2500 bond the same day.
