Elizabeth Thomas was abducted on March 13th of 2017 by her former teacher Tad Cummins.

Cummins admitted to having sex with Elizabeth Thomas when she was 15.

There are videos of them together in a Walmart buying Condoms and KY Jelly while on the run.

Their GPS devices were turned off or destroyed to avoid being detected.

After five weeks, Elizabeth was found hiding in a rural cabin in California.

Regarding the abduction, Elizabeth claims she was not taken against her will, and that she does not regret fleeing with him.

She has since received several months of therapy.

On March 14, 2017, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert asking residents to be on the lookout for Mary, who vanished from her home in Columbia, Tennessee. ^[1]

Investigators believe the teenager is traveling with her teacher, Tad Cummins and could be in the area of Decatur, Alabama.

Tad Cummins is believed to be armed with two handguns. The ongoing investigation indicates Thomas had last been seen on March 13, 2017, at about 8 a.m. at the Shoney’s in Columbia, Tennessee, after being dropped off by a friend. Her parents reported her as missing later in the day.

Investigators can place Thomas in Decatur, Alabama, at approximately 3:06 p.m. Monday, though neither individual has a known connection to that area.

On April 20, 2017, officers from Siskiyou County found Elizabeth Thomas and Tad Cummins at a commune in Cecilville, California. Cummins surrendered without incident and Thomas was safely recovered by law enforcement officers.
