Matt Cahill, professionally known as Marty Mush, is an American blogger for Barstool Sports who lives in New York City. [1]

Personal Liucation

Mush hails from Ronkonkoma, New York, to Robert and Maureen Cahill. His older brother named Nick who played ice hockey at Seton Hall Preparatory School. Marty is a big fan of Drake and really enjoys eating crab legs. [9]

Mush attended Sachem High School North where he played varsity baseball for two years. Mush also played varsity volleyball and was an all-Long Island champion. [9]

Later, he played two years of baseball for the Mount Saint Mary College Knights with the jersey number 29. He had 20 hits in 19 games as a freshman and swung a.308 batting average. He mostly played center field and first base. [9]

Gambling

Mush explained that he had lost a ton of money gambling in his life. When he was younger, Mush happened upon several pairs of shoes in the garbage and sold them to another student at his school for $200 to pay a gambling debt. [11]

Dave Portnoy once tweeted about the time he was up $60,000 and had to throw Mush $1,000 to play because he had lost so much that day: [13]

Marty was the subject of an ESPN parody that characterized him as a terrible gambler who only has a 12% pick rate, the segment was called "Inside The Brain Of A Degenerate Gambler". [14]

Career

Marty Mush was a participant in Barstool Idol Season and was hired full time on to the Barstool Sports team shortly afterwards. He helms the Barstool Bets section and mostly contributes with gambling related content that's usually humorous in nature. [17]

One of Marty Mush's most popular segments was Fraud & Order, a parody of Law & Order that purports to reveal a gambling scheme enabled by corrupt NCAA referees. [15]

Social Media

Marty Mush has a solid social media presence with over 70,000 followers on Instagram and over 131,000 followers on Twitter. [1][16]
