Lubner dedicated his life to painting and teaching.
He was on faculty at UCLA and The Royal College of Art and ran a private teaching studio for sixty-two years.

Lubner is survived by his wife of 58 years, abstract Los Angeles painter Lorraine Lubner, and their large and loving family.
