Medrano was employed as a nurse at Pine Kirk Care Center in Kirkersville, Ohio. She was a mother and was in relationship with Thomas Hartless. [1]
Medrano enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and shooting firearms.
Death

On May 12, 2017, Marlina and her coworker, Cindy Krantz were shot and killed by Thomas Hartless. The Kirkersville police department received a call of a man seen with a gun in an immediate mass shooting at around 7:30 a.m. local time. [1]
Hartless took other bystanders hostage as he approached the center, neither was harmed. [1] He also killed Steven DiSario in an ambush shooting. [1]
