In 2003-2004, she worked as a Senior Financial analyst at Welthecon Investment Managers.

From 2004 to 2010, Marla was a Head of Research and Global Expanison Analyst at Caribbean Money Market Brokers.

From 2011 to 2017, she was a Group Economist at Royal Bank of Canada.
