Mark Patricof is a serial entrepreneur and media executive with extensive leadership and operational experience in the finance, entertainment, technology, and sports industries.[13]
Mark is the Founder and CEO of Patricof Co,a highly specialized private investment platform designed to leverage the unique value proposition of top-tier professional athletes to secure allocations in highly-competitive late stage growth, private equity and real estate direct investment opportunities.[17][16]
Mark was previously a New York City based Managing Director and Co-Head of the TMT Group at Houlihan Lokey. Notable transactions while there include advising on the highly publicized sale of Gawker Media to Univision at a bankruptcy auction for a staggering $135 million and the sale of the iconic concert venue Webster Hall to AEG Presents and Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment.
Mark was a co-founder of MESA Ventures with Andrew Montgomery and is currently a Special Advisor for the firm. He is well known for founding the boutique investment bank, MESA Global and KPE, a digital media agency and business incubator.

Marl Patricof is originally from New York City. He is the son of Alan Patricof and Bette Holender.
Mark is the husband of Martha Jones.
On July 25, 1992 couple got married at the Christ Church Cathedral in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Career
Mark formerly served as Managing Director and Co-Head of the TMT Group at Houlihan Lokey from 2015 to 2018.
He is also currently a Special Advisor at MESA Ventures in New York City.. He founded the firm with Andrew Montgomery in June, 2012 and was a General Partner at MESA Ventures. The firm invests in early stage consumer tech and software startups that are primarily U.S based. MESA invests in collaboration with top Seed and Series A investors.
In 2007, Mark founded and served as a Managing Director at MESA Global, a New York City based boutique investment banking and advisory firm focused exclusively on transactions in the Media and Entertainment industry. MESA Global was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in June 2015.
MESA served high-growth companies across the media and entertainment landscape, offering M&A advisory, private placement, and structured finance services.
Core areas of focus included film, television, music, sports, live entertainment, and digital media, including key verticals such as games, interactive, advertising, and e-commerce.
MESA advised on over 80 transactions including some of the most notable deals in the sector: Colony Capital’s acquisition of Miramax, the sale of Songza to Google, the sale of IndiaGames to Disney, structured finance transactions for Relativity and IMAX, and equity financings for Blue Man Group and FanDuel.
Additionally, MESA advised multiple global corporations, including Discovery Channel, Time Inc., and Viacom.
From 2002-2007 he served as the President of Studio Red a New York City design innovation studio created in a joint venture by Coca Cola and The Rockwell Group. The studio later became known as the Rockwell Lab.

Mark began his career as a trainee working at the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles, CA from 1989-1994, where he started in the agency’s famed mail room. Over the next six years, Mark moved into creative positions at CAA, working with corporate clients on strategic development initiatives and assisting with the launch of the agency’s theatrical division

He has served on a number of boards throughout his career, including Abbeville Press, Bluefly.com, The New York Economic Development Corporation, New York Cruise Lines, The New Media Committee of the New York Public Library, Piano Media, Rockwell Group, and Union Square Partnership.

Mark currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Crestview Partners.
He previously served on the Advisory Boards of Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment and Verve Wireless, and as a Consultant to Airbnb.

Mark was the recipient of a 1999 Clio Award, and was selected as a judge for the 2001 Clio Awards, the highest honor in both new media and advertising.
That same year, he was honored as one of the finalists for the prestigious 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Philanthropy and Political Affiliations
Mark currently serves as Chairman of the Board for New Heights, non-profit organization based in New York City whose stated mission is to “inspire inner city youth to be leaders, champions and student-athletes and empower them to be successful in high school, college and life.”
Mark is longtime supporter of the Democratic Party and has been an active advisor and fundraiser for various political campaigns.
