Mark Anthony Conditt

Mark Anthony Conditt was a resident of Pflugerville, Texas. He was known for the Austin serial Bombings, a series of five package bomb explosions that occurred mostly in Austin, Texas, killing Draylen Mason, Anthony Stephan House, and injuring another five.

Personal Life & Education

Conditt was home-schooled in a Christian household before attending Austin Community College’s Northridge Campus. He worked at Crux Manufacturing, a Semiconductor company located in Austin, Texas.

Conditt was previously a computer repair technician.

He is a son of Danene Conditt and Pat Conditt. His siblings are Christina Conditt and Sara Conditt.

Political views

In 2012, when he was 17 years old, Conditt laid out his political views in a series of blog posts he wrote for an Austin Community College course on UUnited States. government.

In the posts, Conditt takes conservative stances on a variety of issues. He wrote that he was against gay marriage and abortion and in favor of the death penalty.

Bombing

Conditt obtained exotic batteries online and had them delivered to a fictional alias known as Kelly Killmore.

One of the packages he ordered were detonated at a distribution center in San Antonio, Texas. He is thought to have made the bombs himself.

The bomb which he detonated inside of his Getaway car was believed to have been made by himself as well.

Death

On Wednesday March 21, 2018, Conditt killed himself when he detonated a bomb inside his SUV as police surrounded him near a hotel him in Round Rock, Texas.

Authorities had tracked him to a hotel in Round Rock.

Police were able to find Conditt using a variety of tactics, including coming up with a list of phone numbers and individuals that were in the area of the bombings when they occurred, using cell-site analysis and high-tech computing systems that can find patterns of callers in certain areas.

Hours before police tried to pull Conditt, he turned on his cellphone, which allowed authorities to track his location.

Police were following Conditt's car on Interstate 35 when he pulled over and detonated a bomb inside the vehicle, knocking one of the SWAT officers back.

Conditt was found deceased just after 2:00 a.m. local time.
