Marie L. Wieck is an American Business Executive based in the New York metropolitan area. She is a General Manager at IBM who is focused on Blockchain technology.

Marie attended The Cooper Union where she graduated with a BS in engineering in 1982. She went on to earn her MS in Computer science from Columbia University and her MBA from New York University.

In her more than 25 years with IBM, Marie has held a variety of technical and executive roles in IBM's hardware, software, services and corporate finance groups.

Her positions included working in Software, VP of WebSphere, and VP of Middleware Services.

In August 2010, Marie Wieck was named to be general manager of Application & Integration Middleware (AIM) business unit.

^[1] In this role, she leads an organization of more than 7,500 software development, marketing, services, and sales professionals.

^[1] She is responsible for IBM's WebSphere software portfolio and other strategic middleware products, including Web application servers, transaction and messaging systems, integration, and business process management solutions.

In January 2017, she became the General Manger of IBM Blockchain where she is focused on driving open ecosystem growth around the Hyperledger Project, and delivering enterprise blockchain fabric and solutions that transform business processes and transactions.

Marie is the Co-Chair for the National Association for Female Executives, a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, and a Board member of Charity Navigator.
