Manwell Reyes is a German songwriter, rapper and singer. H is also the frontman of a 5-time winner of the GMA Dove Award Christian group named “Group 1”. He his also known as the husband of Anjelah Johnson.^[1]

He was born in Germany but later moved to Florida, the United States of America along with his mother. His parents got divorced making him and his elder brother move to Florida and live with his mom.

His mother had to raise him and his older brother by herself.

While growing up he did grow up in a Christian influenced environment that led him to perform Christian music later in his life.

He was kicked out of three different schools.

He said that he encountered God which ultimately made him work hard and attend a Bible college.

During his college days he was invited to sing at the Summer Camp and that was were he discovered his singing talent.

He is a lead singer of the hiphop group called Group 1 Crew.The group was initially started by Pablo Villatoro, Blanca Callahan and Reyes.

They signed to Fervent Records first then moved to Warner Bros. Records. In 2007 they released their debut song Can’t Go On which became part of WOW hits 2007. They have an EP titled I Have A Dream. In 2008 they released their second studio album titled Ordinary Dreamers.

Their most popular song from the album Forgive Me was featured in an episode of One Tree Hill.

Their third album Outta Space Love became their greatest album with majority of their songs being used on America's Got Talent.

They received nominations for the GMA Dove Award 9 times and won 5 times. He has a podcast titled Nights at the Round Table Pod. He invites different people onto his podcast where they discuss relationships, religion and love.

He has also appeared on a couple of films.

His first film was on Moms' Night Out in 2014.He also appeared in the television series The Collective and finally in 2016 he appeared on the drama movie, Restored Me.

He his currently married to American actress, comedian Anjelah Johnson. She is an American actress, comedian, and former National Football League Cheerleading.The two first met at a common friend’s wedding but did not start dating until after two years when they were set up on a date by their friend. ^[5]

They finally decided to tie the knot and on June 11, 2011 they got married at Half Moon Bay, California with a few friends and families in attendance.

Despite being married to one another for 7 years they don’t have any children.

They are happily married to each other.
