Mantis is an electronic music and DJ duo made up of Taylor Scott and Paul Ollinger.

They originally hail from Atlanta. Previously involved in the metal and deathcore scene, Mantis transitioned to heavy bass music and they made a name for themselves for their metal-influenced production. ^[4]

Mantis formed in early 2011 and an experiment to test the boundaries of metal-influenced electronic music production.

They had a lot of momentum their first year and they went on to release music under labels such as Play Me, Heavy Artillery, BroTown Records, & Abducted Records.

That year, Mantis released their first EPAll Worldswhich broke into the top 10 of Beatport's dubstep releases.

The next year, theirFutures EPwent to be #5 on the overall chart.

^[2]MANTIS would tour extensively with the likes of Downlink and Dieselboy in 2014. ^[4]In March 2016, they would release theAvidity EPand in July of 2018 they would drop theirUnfazed EP. ^[2]

Mantis takes heavy influence from Atlanta's metal scene and the music genre overall.

In terms of sound production quality, they were inspired by Noisia to try and reach their level. They also took influence from artists such as Cookie Monsta, FuntCase, and 16bit. ^[3]
