The Mannequin Challenge is a viral meme that originated in the United States. ^[8]

Origin

The first known video is posted from a Twitter account from Edward H. White Military Academy of Leadership located in Jacksonville on October 26th. ^[14]

Description

The challenge involves large groups of people standing in place usually with music in the background.

A camera weaves to capture every image of the optical illusion to give the effect as if time as stood still.

The most popular song chosen has been Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles. ^[15]

Tracee Ellis Ross even got folks at The White House to do it! ^[5]
