Mahmoud Seraji, an Iranian poet, was born in Astara, Iran on August 23, 1934.

His critically acclaimed trilogy, Mazamir Eshgh, was published in 2004.

The first volume of his highly lyrical poems, a collection of his Erfani work, examines the theme of one's connection to the universe, and the ways in which one reaches self-actualization and union with God by first losing himself in his own self.

The person who emerges out of this journey of self-exploration through love and devotion is an enlightened individual who is as connected to the universe, and therefore, as mindful of it, as is God.

The second and third volume of Seraji’s work is a collection of his Ghazals, Rubai’s and do-beitis.

یارب ار زاهد مکار نهد چهره به خاک نیک داند که کند خاک پلیدی را پاک

دامن آلوده، تن آلوده، ردا آلوده این بود زاد ره رجعت او در فتراک

ظاهرش پاک و درون ناک و عمل در لاک است نییت‌اش ناسره، معجون ریا، جوهره ناک

مثل روباه فرو مایه به هنگام نبرد با قوی چهره به خاک است و به اضعف سفاک

در تناسل و طعام افشرهٔ خصلت خوک اشتهامند و شکمباره به یکسان چالاک

یارب از وسوسه و دغدغه این خنّاس میگریزم به حریم حرم دختر تاک

بو که ز این گلشن دیرندهٔ ا عصار و قرون گم کند گور پلیدش ورک رفته به لاک

خاک باید که کشد پرده بر این گنده لاش به بود جای کثافات به اعماق مفاک

کاوه‌ای کو که زند اخگر خیزش به سکون تا بخیزد شرر از نائرها تا افلاک

کو درفشی که بر آن مهر بود شیر سوار کو فریدون که بمالد سر ضحّاک به خاک

هر چه پوشیده بود گفته ز نا محرم به شاهدا در به صدف باشد اگر خفته چه باک
