Lyda Krewson is the current mayor of St. Louis, Missouri.

She was elected in a landslide on April 4th, 2017 after having earlier won the Democratic Party primary election the previous month.

Prior to being mayor, she was a long serving member of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen.

^[0]In the 2017 Democratic Party primary she, narrowly defeated St. Louis treasurer Tishaura Jones in a field of several candidates.

Krewson is a Certifed Public Accountant (CPA) and the Chief Financial Officer of Peckham Guyton Albers & Viets, Inc. (PGAV), an international design and planning firm.

Krewson attended Moberly High School and has an education degree from Truman State University.

^[1]After moving to St. Louis she earned her accounting degree from the University of Missouri-St.

Louis.

Lyda was an auditor for Deloitte.

In 1995 her husband Jeff Krewson was murdered in a carjacking.

She was married Mike Owens in 1998.

^[1]Her hobbies include gardening and hiking.

^[1]Her son Jack is a Teach for America math teacher at Normandy High School.
