Luke Barnett (1998-July 5, 2017) was a student at Blake Valley Technology College in Hednesford, Staffordshire, England. He was known by friends and family as a fun loving person and a good friend. ^[1]

Luke Barnett lived in Hednesford and was originally from Cannock. He was passionate about golf and had worked at the The Chase Golf Club in Cannock. ^[1]

On July 5, 2017 Luke Barnett died after collapsing while walking with friends near his hotel while on a vacation in the resort town of San Antonio, Ibiza.

Pal Jack Cluett wrote on Facebook: “So shocked. There was never a dull moment in college when you were there. R.I.P Luke Barnett.”

Joshua Trolley added: “Can’t believe you’re gone.

Such a nice young lad.

And a pleasure to grow up through school with you.

Schoolfriend Callum Edwards wrote: “Feels like the other week we was looking at memes and doing fuck all at college.

Can’t get my head round it man.

The autopsy results have yet to be made public, but officials on the Spanish island have said there were no obvious signs the death was alcohol or drugs-related.

They suspect it may have been due to an existing and possibly previously undetected health problem.

The tragedy happened around 2.45am on Wednesday in the central San Antonio street of Vara de Rey.

Emergency services received a 999 call just after 2.45am.

Paramedics were sent to the scene and attempted over a lengthy period of time to revive him but were unable to do anything to save his life.
