Luis Carlos Montalvan

Luis Carlos Montalván is a 17 year veteran and former captain in the U.S.

Army, where he earned the Combat Action Badge, two Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart.

He is also the author of the New York Times best-seller, Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him (Disney-Hyperion), an inspirational memoir chronicling his efforts to overcome crippling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a spinal condition, with the help of his service dog, a golden retriever named Tuesday.

Montalván's writing has been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, and the International Herald Tribune, and NPR, CBS, CNN, BBC, C-SPAN, National Geographic, and Democracy Now!

have all featured his moving personal story.
