Lucas Roitman
Lucas Roitman is an entrepreneur and engineer currently based in Shenzhen. [1] He has experience in the areas of computer vision, drone technology, robotics, Augmented reality, and virtual reality. Lucas has a passion for discussing politics, economics, philosophy, psychology, theoretical physics, business, and technology.
Biography
Roitman grew up in Argentina and is considered a boy genius.
When he was 13-years-old, he created a viral webgame and when he was 16-years-old he made and sold an Augmented Reality product.
Roitman became an international medalist in informatics olympiads in Thailand and Italy. He has been featured on national news and is an author of dozens of papers from engineering to design, politics and economics.
Lucas was a Game Developer at Electronic Arts where he was the interaction designer for the Fifa World game. He was a Game Developer for Milk & Cookies where he led a team of five artists and developers to create a live action third-person multiplayer game.
Entrepreneurship
During college, Lucas completed Research in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, was a Product Designer at the start-up social networking platform EntreprenX, and was a Drone Engineer a Manna.
In 2014, Lucas founded Ebotic which produced an drone for gaming.
The drone could move indoors and is aware of its environment.
In 2017, Lucas launched the startup ADIA which is creating Artificially Intelligent Drones.
The company has raised $100k and is valued at $2.5 million.
Lucas leads a team of five people in the HAX hardware accelerator in Shenzhen, China.
Scholarship
Lucas attended Stanford University on a full scholarship and earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Science, Technology, and Society. While at Standford, he was President of the Drone Indoor Navigation group and was co-founder of the Stanford Magic Society. Lucas was attaining his Masters in Design+AI+HCI, but decided to take a leave of absence to pursue drone projects.
While attending Universität der Künste Berlin he studied 3D printing, Solidworks design, mould design, and visited factories in Berlin.
Lucas studied Marxist and Hegelian philosophy at Humboldt University of Berlin, the same university that Marx, Engels, and Hegel attended. He studied the history of political ideology from Plato to Aristotle as well as contemporary theories of political structures at Freie Universitat Berlin.
Lucas attended Peking University in China and studied Chinese economics, Urban design, and International politics.
Hacker Noon
Lucas is a contributor to Hacker Noon and in April 2017 wrote a satirical article about barely surviving in Silicon Valley working at Google with a $250K salary. The article subsequently went viral because many readers thought Lucas was being serious.
