Luca Scatà is an Italian police officer.

He became famous in Europe on December 23, 2016 after he gunned down Anis Amri, a wanted suspected terrorist in Milan, Italy.

Scatà was a trainee who had only just joined the force.

On December 23, 2016 at around 3:00 a.m., Scatà and another officer confronted Anis Amri after he got off a train, and asked for his identification.

Anis Amri pulled a gun from his backpack, screamed Allahu akbar and opened fire on the two officers, striking Luca's partner in the shoulder.
