Lindsey Nobel (Artist) was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where graduated with a Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in Painting. [1] [undefined] In addition, she took classes at the Royal College of art through the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied figure painting. [undefined] Upon graduating from Santa Cruz, she moved to San Francisco to pursue at career in art. [undefined]

Career

Nobel has been active in the art scene since the mid-1990s and her goal through her art is to represent all aspects of human interaction from neurology to sociality within our contemporary society, especially in interactions with technology.

[undefined] [undefined] In 1992 she began developing a drawing language that, for better or worse, connects us to computers. [undefined] In 2004, she had a solo show at the Cartelle Gallery that was cyrated by Sam Freedman and Heather Harmon. [undefined] At the 2009 exhibit at the Los Angeles L2Kontemporary Gallery titled “Mo’ Flow: Blots & Trails,” Nobel worked with fabricator Jack Brogan to create her “Overview” paintings that were shown there. [undefined] In 2011, Nobel set up her studio in Inglewood where it is currently located on La Brea Avenue. [undefined]

The themes in Nobel’s art mainly explore ideas about technology, science and human connection.
