Linda Kologi was a mother of four from Long Branch, New Jersey. Linda and her husband Steven Kologi were known by family and friends as a devoted parents who always put her kids first. On Sunday, December 31, 2017 her son Scott Kologi was arrested after fatally shooting Linda, her husband Steven Kologi, her daughter Brittany Kologi, and a family friend Mary Schultz.

Linda Kologi her husband Steven Kologi and their four children all lived in Long Branch, New Jersey. She is the mother of Scott Kologi, Brittany Kologi, Steven Kologi Jr. According to a 2009 bankruptcy filing, the family was struggling financially with Linda collecting unemployment benefits while her husband Steven Kologi worked as a mailman. Linda enjoyed playing the New Jersey State Lottery and following horse racing.
Their son Steven Jr., who survived the shooting, wrote a tribute to his parents on his Instagram account after the tragedy.
โMy New Years resolution is to be as great of a parent as my parents were to me. I know many of you donโt want to read long bios but they were the greatest parents I could ask for. Never once was I without a hot meal or a roof over my head. They made sure Christmas came every year although they struggled financially.โ
Death
On December 31, 2017, Scott Kologi was taken into custody after he shot and killed Linda, her husband Steven Kologi, her daughter Brittany Kologi, and a family friend Mary Schultz at their home in Long Branch with a semi-automatic rifle.
He opened fire inside the family home at 635 Wall Street around 11:45 p.m. local time, killing his father, mother, Brittany, and 70-year-old family friend Mary Schultz.
The gun used in the shooting was a Century Arms semiautomatic rifle. The gun was legally registered to a member of Scott's family.
