Lilyanna Carpenter Martin (June 20, 2000 - August 25, 2017) was an American student at Morrill High School in Morrill, Nebraska.

Lily was born June 10, 2000 in Denver, Colorado to Julia Carpenter-Morehead and Luke Martin. She was known for her outstanding athletic accomplishments and glowing celebrity. She was a light of many talents not only as an athlete but as an artist, poet, scholar, and humanitarian. ^[1]

On August 25, 2017, Martin was found in a burned vehicle south of Morrill. Her body was identified and confirmed through dental records. ^[1]

She had been reported missing by her family on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017.

The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department, Morrill Police Department and the Morrill and Lyman fire departments had responded to a report of a car on fire at 9:59 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 in a field northwest and a short distance from the intersection of South Morrill Road and East Lyman Road.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the vehicle engulfed in flames.

Once the fire departments put the fire out, her body was discovered inside the vehicle.
