Overview
Lightshow (rapper) has released a steady flow of mixtapes since 2011 through his own label, 86 America. He got his first cosign and boost of fame when Wale featured him on Georgetown Press, a song from his Folarin album. [2]
In 2013, Lightshow was featured in Complex's 25 New Rappers to Watch, and in 2014 he dropped his DJ Khaled hosted mixtape, The Way I See It, and has been catching buzz ever since. Light show's performed all around the country in places like SXSW, the Sweetlife Festival, and the CMJ Music Marathon, BET Experience, First Slice Pizza Festival, Trillectro Music Festival, Atlanta's A3C, Broccoli City Festival and more. Lightshow is a victim of gun violence and had to spend more than half a year recuperating from a gunshot wound to the leg. After the Great Mills High School shooting, Lightshow paid a visit to survivor Desmond Barnes to show his support. [3]
