Leanna Carr is an American Professional powerlifter, fitness coach, athlete, and grad student popular for her competitive spirit and insightfulness in the sport of Weightlifting. ^[1]

Leanna Carr was born and raised in the state of Georgia for most of her early life. She was born in the city of Buford, a place where she lived for a number of years until her family relocated to Athens. ^[1]

Ever since she was a little girl, she was active.

At the age of six years old, she began to do gymnastics. This led to her competitive and all star cheerleading until she graduated high school. She is a graduate of Flowery Branch High School. ^[1]

During high school, she committed to University of Georgia where she studied and graduated with her B.S. in Biology. ^[1]

During her time in College, she started gaining excess weight from eating too much Taco Bell and cheap vodka. She initially started lifting weights to lose weight and feel about herself which is when she discovered a hidden passion for the sport.

Leanna Carr trained with her University's Powerlifting team after being seen by one of the team members and invited to train with the rest of the athletes.

After engaging with the sport while in college, she also started to training with Matt Jansen of INOV8 ElitePerformance along with UGA Powerlifting Team.

Leanna Carr first competed in her first powerlifting meet on December 2012 where she won her class. She has since competed and won her division in two USAPL meets and also her first NPC Figure Competition.

Carr has about 115k followers on her Instagram account and nearly 4k on Twitter.

While visiting the city of Dublin as part of her European travels some time in April, 2018, she was groped by a man who laughed after committing the act. Carr reacted and punched the man in the face. The man then attempted to hit back the two were interrupted by a couple who saw the entire incident.

Carr took to her Twitter to share photos of her red knuckles she received after punching the man. She admitted that she is not a violent person and that her reaction was natural. She relates that the incident has made her a more confident person. She wanted to return to the United States, but her Irish friends made her feel comfortable and have helped her in having a better experience of the famous Irish city.
