Lea Coco (born April 8, 1977) is an television and move actor from Mississippi. [10]
Personal Life
Lea Coco was born in Louisiana, his grandfather and father owned a cotton gin until hard times forced the family to move to Mississippi. His father is a machinist and his mother is a secretary. Lea is a natural thespian and spent a lot of time acting on the stage before he got behind the lens. [6]
In 2016, he started a relationship with Jaimi Paige.
Education
Lea Coco wanted to pursue athletics and maybe even compete in the olympics, until a shoulder injury led him to enroll in drama classes:
"I threw the discus all throughout high school. I had a discus scholarship to go to Louisiana State and my aspiration was to become an Olympic athlete"
He was even cast in his first show and had a blast acting in Camelot. Lea Coco spent two years at University of Alabama before switching to Carnegie Mellon University, School of Drama and graduating with a BFA. [2]
Career
Lea Coco made his television debut on Fox’s hit drama Prison Break in 2004. Since then he's made appearances in several hit shows including The Closer, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Minds, "Southland,” Bones, and Stitchers, "Making Moves” and Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey’s critically acclaimed series Queen Sugar. In film, Coco has played Agent Sisk in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, and Clint Collins in Ciaran Foy’s Sinister 2. He also starred in the Hallmark television movie "The Sweetest Christmas" and the short film Out of Courage 2: Out for Vengeance. Before hitting the silver screen, Lea Coco acted acted in some of the most prestigious playhouses like The Public Theater, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Utah Shakespeare Theatre and the Steppenwolf Theatre. He once had a lead role in “The Little Dog Laughed" at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and has even performed as part of the Blue Man Group. In 2013, Lea Coco contributed several songs to the soundtrack of Saving Lincoln and even acted in the film as Ward Hill Lamon. His highest rated film on Rotten Tomatoes is National Lampoon Presents The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell with a score of 67%. Lea Coco has also acted in Sympathy, Said the Shark, Wolf Mother, The Relic and Dorian Blues. [5]
