On June 11, 2017, as Leslie and little Laylah waited at the Subway parking lot located on 6744 Winchester Rd near the Hickory Hill strip mall to pick her sons from work, motorists drove around the area wildly. Leslie told the driver of a black Chevrolet Impala with three other occupants not to hit her car, and he yelled something she couldn't understand back at her. [1]

When her sons got inside the car, they drove over to Dollar General to make a stop.

Once they were out on the road again, gunshots were fired and impacted little Laylah.

She was immediately taken to a nearby Memphis Fire Station No.

52, located only minutes away where paramedics took Laylah to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in extremely critical condition.

On June 14th, 2017, she was pronounced dead. People on Social media have since expressed their condolences. Leslie released a Facebook live where she says her last

goodbye to her daughter inside of the hospital room.

There is currently an ongoing investigation where people in the city and area are working together with law enforcement to locate the perpetrators involved.

Leslie believes that the men inside of the black Impala followed her after she picked up her sons from work.

The police have released photos of a vehicle along with the members they believe to have been the ones who committed the murder.

Yet, no arrests have been.
