Lauryn Ricketts majored in environmental studies at Randolph Macon College graduating in 2005. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

While in college, Lauryn Ricketts held three internships cementing her career in journalism. ^{[1] [3]}

After he studies, Lauryn Ricketts went on to work at WTTG in Washington, headed up the weather center at WHSV in Winchester as their Chief Meteorologist and also worked with the weather team’s at both WBFF and WMAR in Baltimore. More recently she worked with the biggest local television team of meteorologists at WJLA-ABC7, also in Washington, D.C.^[14]
