Lauren Mayk is a reporter for NBC 10 News. She reports live on weekdays during the 4, 5, and 6 p.m. newscasts and also covers a variety of assignments for NBC 10 but she is most passionate about reporting on politics. [2]

Lauren Mayk most memorable time as a reporter has been the entire 2016 election season. She interviewed all four of the major candidates for President and Vice President (Clinton, Kaine, Trump and Pence). Bringing viewers an up-close look at the campaigns, reporting from the convention floors at the RNC and DNC, hearing for supporters at rallies about what inspired them to support their candidates is something she will never forget.[1]

Personal Life and Education

Lauren Mayk was born on 30th, October 1977 in Philadelphia, United States.

Lauren's father, Richard Mayk worked for both WPHT and WCAU- in the late 1960s and ’70s.

She graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with a degree in Political Science. During her time as an undergraduate, she served as the Editor In Chief for The Michigan Daily.

Lauren Mayk is married but it is not known to whom.

She likes to keep it professional by only sharing her work and news to the public.

It is also not known if she has children or not.

The reporter prefers to keep her family life out of the public eye.[3][4]

Career

Lauren Mayk started her career in local television as a part-time news writer at WTXF-TV, the Fox affiliate in Philadelphia.

she has been a television and print reporter for more than 15 years.

For five years, she was a political, consumer and general assignment reporter as well as Sunday morning anchor and public affairs show host at WFLA-TV.

Before that, Lauren was an anchor, reporter and executive producer at SNN Local News 6, the cable news channel in Sarasota, Fla., for almost four years.

She was also a business reporter at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, where she covered the retail, telecom, and energy industries.

Before moving to Florida, she was a correspondent in the South Jersey, bureau of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Lauren Mayk was named “Best of the Bay Area: TV Political Reporter” by Tampa’s Creative Loafing newspaper in 2014.

Lauren covers a variety of assignments for NBC 10 but is most passionate about reporting on politics.

2016 election season was the most memorable moment for her as a reporter as she covered the entire season.

She interviewed all four of the major candidates for President and Vice President (Clinton, Kaine, Trump, and Pence).

Lauren was excited to go back again to join NBC 10 as a reporter in Philadelphia where she grew up.

She said she loves living reporting in the Philadelphia region because the region has special meaning to her and to her family. She said that she was born there, while her father was working at WCAU as a reporter.[5]

Some Philly Restaurants Could Close Streets as Outdoor Dining Comes Back

For the customers who want to dine at a restaurant, the months of takeout are finally over.

Starting Friday, Philly's restaurants can offer outdoor dining, and some are ready to go right away.

The city issued guidelines spelling it all out Thursday: restaurants should keep employees 6 feet apart, spread out tables the same distance, and keep parties to six people or fewer.[6][5]
