Lauren Mascitti
Lauren Mascitti (born 1992) is a Singer and a Songwriter. She featured on the "American Idol audition season 18" where she left the Judges wanting more after performing her own song alongside her fiance, Shawn Camp. She was doing songwriter rounds and showcases at that time and decided to move to Nashville to pursue her musical career. She is also a registered nurse.
Education and Early Life
Lauren completed her schooling from Louiseville High School and also attended the Nursing school at Stark State College where she graduated as a registered nurse in 2014 and moved to Nashville shortly afterwards. Mascitti was received and raised by her grandparents. She said in her tryout that her grandma was probablyher biggest supporter. They lived in Louisville, Ohio when she was young before moving to Missouri. Her grandparents had a big impact on her love for music:
“I grew up encompassed by exemplary bluegrass music,” Mascitti revealed to MCH News.
“My papaw is an immense devotee of the Highwaymen, particularly Waylon Jennings, so Waylon turned into a major melodic motivation to me.
My nana would let me keep awake until late to watch the Statler Brothers Show on TV, particularly when Crystal Gayle was on.”
Career
Lauren started recording her own gospel music in elementary school at just seven years old. When she turned 12, in order to support her and in pursuit of opportunities in music, her whole family moved to Branson, Missouri. After that she, enrolled under vocal coach Brett Manning in Nashville because she often went to visit her home week after week. Her first breakthrough came at the age of 15 when she recorded her original song “Child of God” that reached the 70th position at the national Southern Gospel Radio Chart. Her first studio album “God Made a Woman” released on 9th January 2020.[11]
She mixes gospel and country music
Mascitti blends hints of her youth in her most up to date collection "God Made a Woman."
The music is a blend of the customary nation and gospel music.
She said she needed to put a crisp spin on both genres for her collection.
Mascitti considers herself an old soul, however, for her freshest collection, she pulled from encounters with chapel gatherings, her grandma’s preferred soul tunes, her granddad’s nation tapes and her numerous exhibitions at Italian-American occasions.[12]
“I grew up with gospel and customary nation, yet this collection is about more than convention,” she said.
“I need to put a crisp turn on everything while as yet establishing it in a gritty, rootsy vein.
God Made a Woman is a blend of the customary and the new.”
She is a registered nurse
Lauren is originally from Louisville, Ohio, but she moved to Nashville in 2014. Before that big move, she graduated with a degree in nursing and share her experience as a nurse.[17]
"I work with people at different stages in their lives, and I've heard so many stories.
The whole experience has inspired me.
I've learned a lot about people and what they've gone through."[13]
Lauren Experience at "American Idol season 18"
On the March 1st, 2020 episode of American Idol, the 28 years old singer and songwriter left the American Idol judges wanting more after she auctioned her song titled "If I could Lose You," alongside Camp's accompaniment on acoustic guitar.
“If you tell a story and we believe you through and through, we’re gonna subscribe,” Perry said
Bryan added, “Yeah, we will be butter, we will melt.”
All three judges voted yes and sent her to Hollywood.[14]
Personal Life
Lauren Mascitti has been engaged since Christmas 2018 with fellow musician Shawn Camp who regularly performs with her.

Shawn Camp is a songwriter, guitar player and background singer for numerous high-profile country acts including Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Spirit (Willie Nelson album), George Strait, and countless others.[14]
