Okmin graduated from The University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in journalism. [3]
Career
Currently, Okmin is a reporter for the NFL on FOX as well as a feature reporter for the both FOX’s pregame shows, Fox NFL Sunday and Fox NFL Kickoff. She has covered the biggest names on the biggest stages for over two decades, including over ten Super Bowls, two Olympics, multiple NBA Finals, World Series and All-Star games.[4]
Laura served as the AFC reporter for Fox Sports during the divisional playoffs in 2018-2019. Laura also provides analysis for Westwood One’s NFL Thursday night and Monday night national radio games as well as the NFL playoffs. Along with hosting FoxSports.com’s coverage of the 2012 Summer games in London and the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Laura has hosted three national FSN shows while serving as feature and reporter for Orange and Fiesta BCS Bowl Games.[4][6]
Wanting to create and develop her own content, Okmin started LO Productions in 2007 producing PROfiles, a 30-minute series introducing NFL personalities off the field, which aired on FSN.
She hosted the series while also serving as its Executive Producer-securing VIZIO as the title sponsor, booking each guest, and writing each episode.[4][6]
Previously, Okmin worked for TNT Sports (2002-2003), where she hosted Braves and Thrashers coverage while serving as a sideline reporter for the NBA Playoffs. [4]
Her broadcasting career began as a sports reporter and anchor in Montgomery, AL, Chattanooga, TN and sports and Sports Channel in Chicago, where she traveled with the Chicago Bulls during their championship run. [4]
While in Chicago, she received the Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sports, Single Program Covering Sports. [4]
Honoring her late mother, Laura wrote a children’s book titled "Mommy Has Cancer" which was published in 2002.
Her other passion is training and mentoring young women entering the sports broadcasting field by putting on seminars around the country with her company GALvanize.
She also conducts media training for professional athletes, coaches, NFL and MLB teams and business professionals.
Laura also sits on the Board of Trustees of the University of Kansas William Allen White Journalism School and is on the advisory board of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission.[4]

As of December 2019, Laura has over 22,000 followers on her LauraOkmin Twitter account. She uses Twitter to share her TV reports, work photos and commenting on current sports events. She also has over 3,000 followers on her lauraokmin Instagram account. There she posts work photos, as well as photos with friends and family.[2][5]
Personal Life
She married Michael Hagerty in July 2017.
Laura and Michael live in Nashville, Tennessee with their dog Booyah.[6]
