On August 14th of 2017, Laura Lynn Cross was indicted on three counts of sexual battery from Aug. 1, 2013 through Sept. 6, 2016.

Laura Lynn Cross was impregnated by a student during a 3 year Sexual affair. ^{[0] [1]}

Cross resigned from her teaching position at Buchtel High School in 2015, and convinced the teen's mother, who reportedly had custody, to allow him to move in with her through a court-approved "partial parental custody" arraignment. ^{[0] [1]}

The 36-year-old teacher told the teen's mother she could "mentor" him, and filled her Facebook with posts of her and the teen. ^{[0] [1]}It was during this time that Laura Lynn Cross allegedly groomed the 13 year old teen into being the father of Laura's child. ^{[2] [1]}She had been his 8th grade teacher.

Officials filed charges in August of 2017 after police learned Cross had a child with the teen, which was kept secret until someone contacted the teen's father.

^[0]The father said he had reported the sexual relationship multiple times, but that he was ignored.

"You couldn't love me enough... to hold me, love me, comfort me" read a text from Laura to her student.

The ex-teacher is being held in the Summit County Jail on $100,000 bond.

^[0]If convicted, she will likely have to register as a Sex offender and will be unable to teach children. ^[1]

Laure Cross, whose maiden name is Laura Hajjar, has four other children, sons ages 20, 15 and 10, and a teen daughter, according to court records.She

was married as of October 2016, but it is not clear if she is still married. Authorities

have not said who currently has custody of Cross’ four children.

She has been arrested several times since 2015 on drug charges, theft and other felonies.

She has pleaded guilty to some of these crimes, while other charges are to be determined.
