Maraghy graduated from Lake Norman High School in 2009. ^[13] He subsequently took a few years off from school before enrolling at Mitchell Community College. ^[14]

On October 13, 2017, Maraghy was arrested in connection to a viral video of him assaulting a 62-year-old man at the Carolina Panthers game against the Philadelphia Eagles the day before. ^{[2] [5] [6]}

Warren Carrigan posted a video of the incident to Facebook and Instagram that shows a bloodied altercation between Maraghy and another unidentified older man sitting behind him.

Carrigan stated that the incident happened in section 541.

Maraghy and his girlfriend, Leigh Anne Nasri had been standing for the entire game, which the older man behind them had complained to them about. ^{[2] [5] [6]}

Words were exchanged and the video shows Maraghy sucker punch the older man in the face.

Blood can be seen dripping from the victim's face.

Maraghy was charged with simple assault in connection with the assault.
