Kurt Schlichter is an American freelance writer, trial lawyer, and former Colonel known for his detestation of Progressives in the United States. ^{[1] [6] [4]} He has written for publications such as The Los Angeles Daily Journal, and has appeared in several television programs on Fox News, where he has recently presented his views regarding the Brett Kavanaugh nomination progress as a Supreme Court Justice. ^{[1] [12]}

Schlichter was born and raised in the state of California, a place where he has lived for most of his life. ^[2] He grew up in the town of Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles. ^[2]

Schlichter attended the University of California, San Diego where he received his Bachelor's degree in Communications and Political science. ^[1] During his time at the college, he was also an editor and a comedy columnist for the newspaper, the UCSD Guardian. ^[1]

After his time in the United States Army, he attended Loyola Law School where he received his Juris Doctor degree in Law. ^[1]

Years later, in the late 2000s, he received his Master's degree in Strategic planning from United States Army War College. ^[1]

As an Army officer of 28 years, he has commanded over 1200 Soldiers of a Cavalry recon squadron and served in the Gulf War and in the Kosovo War. ^[6]

As a lawyer, he does civil litigation and trials, with a focus on contract disputes, business disputes, real estate controversies, and contractor problems.

In 1994 he founded Schlichter & Shonack, LLP.

Their clients include Fortune 500 companies and various insurers, as well as individuals and small to mid-sized businesses.

In July 2020, Schlichter's new book, The 21 Biggest Lies about Donald Trump (and you!) was published by Regnery Publishing. The book makes the case that fans of President Trump are demonized by the hostile news media and political critics just as much as the president himself. Schlichter has identified the 21 most glaring and persistent fibs about Trump which keep reappearing in the public discourse, even several years after he was elected. He provides reasons for the endless hostility directed at Trump from media, rival politicians, elitists, globalists, academics, and social media mavens, among others.^[21]
