kristine sorensen is a native of Winter Park, Florida, United States She is an Emmy Award winning Journalist and Television host at the KDKA-TV. She anchors KDKA-TV News at 12 noon and 5 p.m.[4]
Career
kristine sorensen joined KDKA-TV in April 2003, before anchoring the 12noon and 5pm news, she hosted the “Pittsburgh Today Live” program for 11 years on KDKA. In addition, Kristine is seen in her weekly Kidsburgh reports in collaboration with Kidsburgh.org. This program features the positive things in the society especially concerning kids as well as families.
Prior to KDKA-TV she was a reporter in Dallas, Texas. She has won the Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for her key role in her Human Interest stories in her Kidsburgh reports, she was recognised for two important stories, first was that of a colourful crossing guard, and children in “A Musical Christmas Carol” and the second was about a boy with Autism who learned speaking through the help of a special iPad speaking device.
Kristine has also served on the Board of Trustees for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre for 10 years and has written about dance for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She is an active supporter of the March of Dimes, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Beverly’s Birthdays and Jefferson Awards Foundation.[1]
Education
Kristine bagged her Bachelor's degree in government with a minor in dance from the College of William & Mary, Virginia, United States. She also earned her master’s Degree in Journalism from the Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She further holds a Marketing certificate from Southern Methodist University.[2]

Kristine Sorensen was born in Winter Park, Florida, United States.
She is happily married to her husband, Marty Griffin, a KDKA-TV investigative reporter. The marriage is blessed with three children; two daughters, Sophia, and Chloe, and a son, Vincent. Marty Griffin is an American investigative reporter and radio talk show host for KDKA-TV and KDKA-AM. The family currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
