Kojo Anim

Kojo Anim (born January 21, 1977) is a comedian and filmmaker most well known for his work as an actor, screenwriter, and the CEO of The Colour Network. His break into the mainstream came in 2005 when he presented CBBC show, The Mighty Truck Of Stuff alongside Reggie Yates.

Kojo had his own show, Kojo's Comedy Funhouse on MTV Base and starred as a panellist on BBC 3 show Free Speech.

His popularity and fan base increased after he participated and came fourth position in Series 13 of Britain's Got Talent in 2019. Some of his original works include Kojo: Live & Kicking and Wasteman Diaries.

Early Life

Kojo Anim was born on January 21, 1977 in Ghana as the oldest of 5 siblings but later moved to London as a child. At the age of 5, Kojo was put into foster care as a child when his parents were in jail, and he ended up staying there until he was 16. He graduated from Gladesmore Community School in 1996.

Kojo's first love was football and he started using his humor to make people laugh in his local team.

Kojo had the chance to go comedy school, so he started his comedy career by doing talent shows at the University. Kojo later gathered funds from his show and was able to set up Kojo's Comedy Fun House, which ran every Sunday for eight years with 300 people queueing up outside each week, packing it to the rafters and coming along week after week. Being someone that comes from a background that attends party alot, he was able to invite celebrities to his comedy shows, as well as hosting exciting new comedians and DJs, so it became somewhere people wanted to be.

"I was doing talent shows at university, and had the chance to go to comedy school, so borrowed £150 from my Aunty Sandra - I've more than paid her back now.

After that I did a lot of university comedy gigs and built up a fan base.

Kojo hosted the daily breakfast show on Capital Xtra four years between 2010 and 2014.

In 2014, he was the warm-up act for Kevin Hart's Wembley show and he has also toured with comedy legend, Dave Chappelle and performed with Chris Rock.

In 2019, Kojo participated in the Series 13 of Britain's Got Talent which was aired in 2019. He came fourth in the audition after making it to the final stage.

He also has shirts such as Taxi take me to £5.00 a joke from his audition. He may have many more pieces of merch like that, although nobody has seen any of the rest yet. In February 2020 he began his 'The Taxi Tour' at The Beck Theatre.[2][3][6]

Kojo Anim participated as a comedian at the Series 13 of Britain's Got Talent in 2019. In his audition, he made jokes about his African parents, as well as having a lack of money and going to the bank, incorporating a piece referring to the metres in black cabs. He also had a piece about his father and Ribena so he had to stop playing with his friend, he also met a homeless person asking if he could give him 20p for something to eat, his response was 'Yoi know where to eat for 20p, I'm coming with you, I bought dinner for the both of us!'

Alesha remarked 'my respect level has just gone way up there, my friend',

Simon adding 'I don't really like comedians on this show, but I loved you', pressing his Golden Buzzer.

His semi final performance saw a majority judges vote send him to the final after the act saw him speak about wanting to go to a party, and his dad finally delivering, he also came home late.

He also joked about practicing his sick voice in the bathroom for so long that he forgot what his excuse was, he later changed his excuse to an ankle injury, as to which most probably confused his boss as he sounded unwell yet he had stated that he had an ankle injury.

He also wanted his son when he went to school to have fun games like kiss chase like he had when he was in school, 'pretty girls like Amanda and Alesha they had pace!

Then there were girls like David and Simon who would always fall over by accident!'

Upon reaching the final, he joked about organizing transport back from an airport and his friend not delivering, fortunately a mutual friend was there to help.

He joked about messy houses and finally about his church most notably

'I asked my pastor if he could change a £10 note, he said God will change your life!'

Kojo Anim came fourth at the audition and this had really help in boosting is career as a comedian.

Kojo Anim is married and he became a father in 2018. The name of his son is Roman Kingsley.

Social Media

Kojo dedicated his Instagram page to share, mostly, comedy skits and sometimes pictures from his activities. His funny contents has surely increased the number of people following his page. As of June 2020, Kojo has 112 thousands followers on his kojoanimelive Instagram page, He also have a YouTube channel with 15.9 thousands subscribers.[7][8]
