Kirk Myers (born March 3, 1979) is a reknowned personal trainer and fitness instructor to celebrities, Hollywood royalty and supermodels, owner and CEO of exclusive DOGPOUND gyms located in NYC and LA ^[3]

He is known for posting his clients progress to his over 280,000 Instagram followers.

He is also known for being the personal fitness instructor for many Victoria's Secret models.

He was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Growing up, Kirk Myers weight nearly 300 lbs and had a obsession for chocolate milk, pounding up to two gallons every day. ^[5]

Those bad habits followed Myers to college at the University of Missouri, where on day after being admitted to the ER, He was told he had congestive heart failure and was immediately sent to the ICU, He was 21 years old.

It took him two years of hard work, but Myers lost over 130 lbs.

He took his disease as an opportunity to turn his life around.

He started to study nutrition and fitness.

After graduating from the University of Missouri.

he became certified as a personal trainer at age 23 and started his own business.Friends

started asking for fitness advice, they had seen the results that Myers had gotten for himself, and were willing to listen to him, he had always wanted to be a teacher when he grew up, and teaching people in this way just felt right. His

clientele grew and at age 25 he found himself with a thriving personal fitness business, called Kirk Fitness which was featured in the Kansas City business journal.

On the personal side, During his late 20s, with early success came bad habits, his addictive personallity came back and he started going out, most nights involved drinking and drugs[8].

by the age of 30 his heart condition had returned.

It was during this time when he moved to Memphis-and stayed with his sister, Susan and her kids to heal that he had what he would describe as a “spiritual awakening”.

He felt that there was a reason he was here and knew he had to continue to help people change their lives through not only fitness but by breaking through mental barriers.

this time helped him immensely as he was able to recover enough to have a fresh new start in NYC.[9]

When Kirk made the move to NYC, he had planned to stay the summer.

As soon as he arrived, he started training, first working a few hours a week at Cordell Fitness, a private gym in New York City SoHo's neighborhood.

With his years of experience and struggles, he decided to start Kirk Myers Fitness in late March 2013.

The business started with one celebrity and a few clients in June 2013.

By fall he had 20 clients and was working on starting a non-profit program for kids.

This was called the Great Youth Movement.

That fall, he met Hugh Jackman.

Soon he was joined by Tom Farley, who was then the president of the New York Stock Exchange and several other new “members”.

The group started training together and Hugh liked to workout so much, they started a weekly group.

He would bring his dog to the sessions, so they took the name Dogpound.[10]

This name was then turned into a logo designed by client and iconic creative director Fabien Baron.

Baron went on to design the look of the gym and the feel of the brand, giving Dogpound an edge in style.

In 2015, Kirk and his team of trainers opened up the first Dogpound Fitness facility on Renwick street in New York City tribeca Neighborhood.

During the first month of the opening of Dogpound, Myers was introduced to his first Victoria Secret Angel Jasmine Tookes by celebrity hairstylist Marty Harper and word of mouth grew as he soon attracted a multitude of Victoria's Secret Angels.[11]; Lais Ribeiro, Rome Strijd, josephine skiver, Sara Sampino, Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima and others.

Due to his sheer work ethic and enthusiasm, 3 years later the gym is currently closed to new clients and now the New York gym has more than 100-person waiting list.[12]

In 2018 Kirk Myers was nominated for the 2018 Greatmats National Fitness Trainer of the Year Award.

The award is designed to recognize trainers who have demonstrated service, integrity and quality to make a positive impact on the lives of their clients and community as a whole.[13]

He has been featured in numerous magazines, publications and TV segments.

A big part of his training and life is centered around incorporating elements of kundalini yoga, and his space is used often for kundalini practice.

In May 2019, Kirk and his team opened up the second Dogpound Fitness facility in West Hollywood Los Angeles, on North Robertson Boulevard above Melrose street.

Maroon 5's Adam Levine, was one of Myers clients, and now an investor of the brand [14]

Both gym facilities have a very similar feeling, the aesthetic of the places are still like an auto mechanic shop or "an old-school, in-your-garage workout".

When the garage doors are closed, the West Hollywood gym is the same space as the flagship location.

When open, the gym is twice the size.

Since many trainers in New York move their clients from inside the gym to outside for tire flips and other exercises, Myers has brought this element to the LA location, complete with black turf,graphics on the wall and a basketball court.

Dogpound will also have valet parking and rotating art work curated by Vito Schnabel, starting with a 12-foot-wide, black-and-white abstract painting by Texan artist Jeff Elrod.[12]

Kirk now lives between NY and LA attending both gyms, with the goal of making DOGPOUND a global lifestyle brand in selected cities.
