Education
Kimberley Martin graduated from Wesleyan University in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and African-American studies. She went on to attend Syracuse University, where she received a master's degree in newspaper and online journalism.

Kimberley Martin started her career in 2003 as a Sales Assistant at U.S. Trust, where she facilitated daily operations of the business development department, including enhanced due diligence on potential high-net-worth clients and fee calculations for investment incentives. In 2005, she became a Sports Staff Writer at The Daily Orange. From January-May 2006, she was a Contributing Sports Writer at The Post-Standard, where she wrote game stories and features on high school sports in the Syracuse area.[2]
From 2006-2007, Martin worked at The Record, firstly as a Local Sports Intern, and later as a Sports Reporter.
In November 2007, Martin became a Sports Reporter and New York Jets Beat Writer at Newsday Media Group, covering the NFL, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, and National Hockey League. She also covered college athletics, including St. John's, Hofstra University, University of Connecticut and Stony Brook University basketball.[2]
During 2017, Martin was a Sports Columnist at The Buffalo News and Washington Redskins Beat Writer at The Washington Post. From 2018-2020, she had a position of Senior NFL Reporter at Yahoo! Sports. Since March 2020, Martin has been an NFL Reporter at ESPN.[2][13]
Awards
Kimberley Martin won several awards while at Newsday, including a first-place finish for project writing by the Associated Press Sports Editors as part of a team that examined the many challenges NFL athletes face transitioning to life after football.
She was also named the Emerging Journalist of the Year in 2011 by the National Association of Black Journalists.
