Newman was introduced to the sport of boxing at the age of three when his mother gave him his first pair of boxing gloves that read “Boom” on one and “Pow” on the other.
His father bought him his first heavy bag.
Newman developed an interest in the career of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson as a youngster.

On November 1, 2019 he defeated Mark Anthony Hernandez at Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Las Vegas. He has boxed at Sam's Town eight times, to include wins over Cory Dulaney, Azamat Umarzoda, Pablo Velez, Egerhert Reed, Cesar Lopez Ugarte and Ramon Aguinaga. He has boxed at the MGM Grand Las Vegas three times. He fought there in his pro debut in 2014 where he had a draw with Azamat Umarzoda. He had two wins in 2015 at the MGM Grand Las Vegas against Shariff Woo Johnson and Bobby McIntyre. Newman has scored six knockouts. Newman has scored six stoppage victories
Started Training At Mayweather Boxing Gym In 2009
Newman officially took up the sport at the age of nine when he moved to Las Vegas.
He immediately began training with Jeff Mayweather at a local gym. Newman went on to train at the famed Mayweather Boxing Club in 2009. He returned to the ring in 2013 after returning to the ring from an injury and having Tommy John surgery. Newman went on to win the Ringside National Championship.Throughout 2013 his reign of victories continued as he was crowned the champion of the Golden Gloves and USA tournaments, winning the state title for three years in a row between 2011 and 2013. Newman had thirty fights as an amateur and finished with a record of 25 wins and 5 losses.[17]
Joined Mayweather Promotions In 2014
Newman’s talent was quickly noticed by Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather took attention to Newman’s skills and technique in the ring and offered Newman a contract to join the growing stable of Mayweather Promotions’ fighters in the summer of 2014. Newman made his professional debut on September 13, 2014 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on the Mayweather vs. Maidana II undercard. He competed against Azamat Umarzoda which resulted in a draw. He used this as motivation and from then he went on to win his next seven boxing matches.
Suffered Loss And Avenged Defeat
On August 26, 2017, Newman faced his first defeat when Mark Anthony Hernandez defeated him by decision on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor undercard. Newman took some time off and made his return to the ring on September 22, 2018 where he displayed his skills, defeating his opponent Egerhert Reed by 2nd round tko. Newman ko'd Cesar Lopez Ugarte on April 5, 2019. Then an opportunity came for him to avenge his first loss, and in a much-anticipated rematch, Newman fought Mark Anthony Hernandez on November 1, 2019 on the televised undercard fight on ShoBox:The New Generation. Newman defeated his opponent with a unanimous decision victory.

He competed on February 28, 2020 against Genc Pllana at Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall and lost a unanimous decision.Boxing
legend Roy Jones Jr. was involved in training Newman for his match with Pilana. Pilana has a professional boxing record of 8-1-1. The boxing card was televised by Showtime. He defeated Marcelo Ruben Molina on April 23, 2022. Roy Jones Jr and Skip Crumpler worked his corner for the match.
