Hsu received his B.S. in Information and Computing Science from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He then went on to get his Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham. Finally, he earned his Masters of Science in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning from UCL. 
Hsu started his career as a Marketing Intern at multinational banking corporation, ING Group. His next gig was was as Senior Investment Researcher at Tantinet Capital where he focused on quantitative trading and brokerage services. He went on to become a part-time assistant at McKinsey & Company where he performed M&A research.   
Around this time Hsu really began to put his data expertise to the test. He became a research assistant at Intelligent Modelling & Analysis Research Group doing machine learning research and medical data analysis. He spent the next year engaged in data science benchmarking as a data scientist for investment banking company, Credit Suisse.
In 2015 he signed on as the Senior Machine Learning Engineer at financial management service platform, WECASH. In that same year he became a Partner at DragonMind Group. From 2017 on he's invested heavily in the fintech and blockchain space. He's also served as an advisor to Skrumble, TOP Network, and QuarkChain.   
In 2017 Hsu became a Founding Partner at crypto trading firm, BlockVC.
