Her dream was to become a famous film director.

She was a varsity swimmer at Kingston High School, a Girl Scout, and a huge movie enthusiast.

Swimming Incident
During a family summer holiday in Maryland, as she swam in the Octoraro Creek and North East Creek, she contracted a deadly parasite called, Naegleriasis. [undefined]
On Wednesday, August 31st, 2016, she died of the rare brain parasite after Dr. Carol Smith from Department of Health's
Wadsworth Center confirmed the amoeba was present in Kerry's system. The doctor said: "It is a catastrophic type of infection... it really progresses to fatality quite quickly." The amoeba is contracted through the nose when swimming in freshwater lakes of rivers. It travels to the brain and the infection is usually fatal, causing death within five days after symptoms first appears. [undefined]
The mortality rate from primary amebic meningoencephalitis is more than 97 percent, according to the CDC.
The agency said only three out of 138 known infected individuals in the US from 1962 to 2015 have survived.
She is believed to be the first person in the State of New York and the State of Maryland to die from the extremely rare parasite.
