Kerry Clare is a writer, blogger, author and a National Magazine Award-nominated essayist.[1]


Kerry is the author of the novel Mitzi Bytes. In addition, she is a CBC radio columnist, host/moderator for literary events and blogging teacher at Blog School: Pickle Me This, and editor at 49th Shelf.[1]

Kerry is editor of the essay anthology, The M Word: Conversations About Motherhood, which was published to rave reviews in 2014 by Goose Lane Editions. She is also author of the coffee table book, A History of Woods Canada, published by ECW Press in 2015. Her essay "Love is a Let-Down" was awarded an honourable mention in the Personal Journalism category at the 2011 National Magazine Awards, and appears in the anthology Best Canadian Essays 2011.[1]


Kerry graduated from the University of Toronto ’s Creative Writing MA Program in 2007.[1]

Personal Life

Kerry lives in downtown Toronto with her husband, Stuart, and her daughters, Harriet and Iris.[1]
