On May 31, 2017, Hopkins was found hanging halfway out of the second floor window of a bedroom at 516 Palmer in Toledo, Ohio. ^{[undefined] [undefined]}

Toledo Fire Department responded to a call that a man’s body was hanging out of a window of a north Toledo home around in the afternoon.

Crews stated that Hopkins' body looked like he was trying to exit the window and got stuck because glass was embedded in the body.
