Early Life & Education
Kelsey Kernstine was born in the United States and raised in different cities across the country. She has been passionate about the performing arts from a young age, from community plays and theater programs to ice dancing all over the country. She later became a competitive figure skater and competed in the Junior Olympics. [3]
After moving to Los Angeles, California with her family, Kelsey began to focus more on her acting career while finishing up her last few years of high school. [3]
Kelsey Kernstine graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a minor in film, television, and theater. During her time there, she was a field reporter for the college network, Palestra.net, where she wrote, produced, filmed and edited her own segments. [3] [2]
Career
In January 2018, Kelsey Kernstine joined the news team at KMIZ ABC 17 News in Columbia, Missouri .
She writes, shoots, edits and reports news packages and enterprise stories.
Kernstine covers breaking news, crime, accidents, weather, court, education, county and state government. She anchors the afternoon newscast, reporting live in studio and on location.[3]
