Weill mainly focuses her coverage on how far-right groups use technology to spread their messages of hate, writing articles including, "Reddit Ban Hasn’t Stopped Trump Fans From Calling for Murder of Parkland Kids, Immigrants, and Antifa" and "How YouTube Built a Radicalization Machine for the Far-Right". Weill previously worked for The Daily Beast as an Editorial Intern. In this role, she wrote breaking news and political analysis for the Daily Beast. She also assisted the editorial team in covering breaking stories. [1]

Weill previously worked at NYU Local, NYU's largest student-run publication, from 2013-2016.

As the publication's Editor-in-Chief she led and provided editorial direction for NYU Local. Weill managed a team of approximately 60 writers and editors in a breaking-news environment. She also planned and organized student events including concerts and media panels. Weill coordinated with advertisers, and addressed NYU Local's legal needs. Weill previously worked as a City Editor for NYU Local. In this role, she hired and lead a team of writers in a daily online publication. Before becoming a City Editor, Weill worked as an On-Campus Writer for NYU Local where she conducted interviews, researched breaking stories, and practiced hyper-local reporting on NYU’s campus and in surrounding neighborhoods. She used social media to create viral distribution. Her content was quoted and linked to by larger publications including Time, The Daily Mail, New York Magazine, Yahoo! News, Fox News, Gothamist, BuzzFeed, Gawker, Der Spiegel, The Huffington Post, and the front page of Reddit. [1] From 2015-2016, Weill worked as a Culture Reporter for POLITICO New York where she wrote cultural and business news. She also wrote for POLITICO New York's weekly culture newsletter. Weill previously worked for the publication as an Editorial Intern and wrote breaking news, political analysis, and investigative stories. She appeared on television and radio broadcasts to discuss her articles and broke stories that were featured in the The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The New Republic. [1]

In 2014, Weill worked as a Web Intern for Morning Joe. She w rote articles and managed social media for MSNBC.com and the Morning Joe show. [1] From 2013-2014, Weill interned for the New York Observer's Politcker blog. She a ttended breaking news events, wrote articles, provided fact checking, and photography. [1]

In 2013, Weill worked as an Editorial Intern for Gothamist. She c ontributed original writing, reporting, and photography to Gothamist and its sister-sites including DCist. She also assisted with research, proofreading, and field investigations.

In 2013, Weill worked as an Editorial Intern for AM New York. She researched and wrote 6-10 articles each week for the publication, including cover stories and online articles. [1]

Volunteering

From 2010-2011, Kelly Weill volunteered with Gananda Dollar for Scholars, a community-based, nonprofit organization that raises scholarship funds for qualified Gananda graduates. She helped the organization with public relations by conducting interviews, writing articles, and writing press releases. Weill also helped update organization's website to make it more accessible to students. [1] [7]
