Keithroy Yearwood is best known as the baby from the cover of The Notorious BIG's 1994 album Ready to Die. [1]
Overview
Back in 1994, Keithroy's mother Delcenia Burns helped him land a gig with a modeling agency for the cover of The Notorious BIG's 1994 Ready to Die album. On the cover, a young Keithroy sits indian style, sporting a huge afro and a smug look on his face.
His identity was first revealed back in 2011 when the Daily News successfully located Keithroy. Although Bad Boy Records wouldn't confirm that the baby was Keithroy, his mother kept a copy of the original contract. The family was only paid $150 for the photo, even after the album went on to sell more than $3,000,000 copies.
He said about the experience:
“When I first found out about it, it wasn’t a big deal to me.
Now, of course, it’s a big deal to me.
It's an honor to be on this album.
