Keith Holmes was a professional throttleman and owner of CK Motorsports.

Keith has nearly three decades of racing experience, competing in over 150 races and racking up 86 victories throughout his career.
[6]He was the throttleman for the American Ethanol Cat Can Do, a 1998 40 ft.

The driver of the powerboat was Jamie Sartin.
Some of their wins together include OPA World Extreme Unlimited Champions in 2014 and the 2017 Lake Race.
In addition to racing, Holmes is a huge proponent of ethanol and tries to educate boaters of the benefits of it such as not having black soot and making engines run cooler.
Death
On July 30th, Holmes was racing in the St. Clair River Classic offshore powerboat race when his American Ethanol Cat Can Do boat collided with the Miss GEICO boat.
Holmes was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
